Rachel Mackessy-Lloyd

I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, and addiction. I will work with your mental healthcare team to collaborate and develop a plan that enables you to achieve your goals.
My approach is grounded in the interpersonal theory of nursing. I am especially interested in mood disorder, anxiety, and addiction psychiatry.
I am nationally board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed to practice independently as a PMHNP in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania and these licensures includes prescriptive authority. I completed a Masters of Science in Nursing at George Mason University in 2012 and a post-certificate in PMHNP from George Washington University in 2020.
Nicole Waihman
DNP, PMHNP, MSN, RN
I am a psychiatric nurse and a Doctor of Nursing Practice candidate focused on providing thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan. My clinical interests involve treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and trauma-related conditions. I strive to provide compassionate care that supports each patient’s individual goals for recovery and overall well-being.
My approach emphasizes collaboration, careful assessment, and individualized treatment planning. I believe meaningful mental health care begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and a genuine understanding of each person’s experiences, strengths, and challenges.
I obtained my Master’s Entry into Nursing from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at the same institution. I look forward to working with the team at Mackessy Mental Health to support patients in achieving meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health.
Elizabeth Lynn Mackessy-Lloyd
DNP, MA, MS, RN
I hold a Doctorate of Nursing Practice as a registered nurse with experience in counseling after receiving a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Counseling from Trinity College. I have worked in a variety of practice settings, and am excited to join the team at Mackessy Mental Health.
I received my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. My most recent experience has been in nursing education, both in the classroom, the lab, and in the clinical setting.
